Terms and Conditions

 

Passengers are conveyed subject to and in terms of our standard conditions of carriage, notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary.

Tickets

Tickets are not transferable and are valid for use only by the persons to whom they are issued and for the date and time shown thereon. It is the passengers’ responsibility to ensure that the correct information is shown on the ticket. Passengers are not allowed to break their journey unless separate tickets are issued at the appropriate fares, for each individual journey.

Amendments

Any unauthorized alteration to a ticket will render it invalid. Any change requires the Pathfinder Luxury coaches stamp and a signature from authorized personnel.

Changes to Booked Reservations

Tickets that are cancelled shall not be refunded, but provided that cancellation is done at least 24 hours prior to a departure time, an alternative booking (“rebooking”) may be done for the next available seat on the same route as the initial ticket. If rebooking is not done within the foresaid 24 hour period no rebooking may be made. No more than one rebooking will be allowed per ticket issued. Any increase in the cost/price of the ticket will be for the account of passenger, payable immediately on making rebooking.

Any request for a rebooking must be accompanied by the original ticket. The reservations agency and/or Pathfinder may at their own discretion, levy an administrative fee for rebooking. Rebooking maybe made at Pathfinder Offices, or any authorized agent.

Departure time

Passengers are required to be at the departure points 30 minutes before the departure time shown on the ticket. Any seat not filled within 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, will be offered for sale to standby passengers on a first come first serve basis.

Passenger’s luggage

Unless contracted to the contrary, and at the sole discretion of Pathfinder, each fare-paying passenger is permitted to take free of charge, at own risk, two suitcases not exceeding 80cmx60cmx30cm in size, of a total mass not exceeding 20kg. Pathfinder reserves the right to refuse the carriage of luggage that does not comply with these conditions.

Large items must be carried in the luggage compartment and loaded only by the company’s staff or agent.

Passengers should obtain a Pathfinder luggage-sticker when boarding. Unaccompanied luggage will not be carried.

Pathfinder is not responsible whatsoever for loss or damage to passengers’ or personal effects. No valuable items are to be placed in the luggage holds.

Luggage and or damage claims wills be considered at the sole discretion of Pathfinder management and any claim will be limited to a maximum of US$50.00per claim. The carrying of firearms is not permitted on Pathfinder Coaches.

Harmful chemicals, explosives or toxic substances will not be carried.

Insurance

Pathfinder Coaches does not provide general insurance cover for its passengers, their property or luggage , all passengers should ensure that they are adequately insured.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited on all the coaches.

Unaccompanied children

Unaccompanied minors under between the ages of 6 of 12 will be conveyed for local routes provided a UM form has been completed. Positive identification will be a requirement when the ticket is purchased and or on boarding the coach. Crossborder unaccompanied minors will require an affidavit from the police and will apply to children between 9 and 11yrs

Alcohol

Alcohol may not be consumed on Pathfinder coaches and intoxicated passengers will not be conveyed. Any intoxicated passenger found on board will be instructed to disembark immediately.

Pets

No animals will be carried, with the exception of a trained guide dog accompanying a blind person.

Travel documents

Passengers must ensure that they are in possession of valid travel documents for all cross-border journeys. Pathfinder accepts no responsibility for passengers who are not in possession of proper and valid travel documents, or where entry to any country or territory is refused to any person for any reason. No passenger shall have any claim of any nature against Pathfinder or its appointed agents, should she/he be prevented from undertaking, or continuing with any journey as a result thereof.

Restrictions

No standing passengers shall be conveyed. Passengers may not lie or sit in the aisle or toilet of the coach. No luggage may be stowed in the aisle or toilet of the coach.

Right of conveyance

The Company reserves the right to refuse to undertake the conveyance of, or the continued conveyance of any passenger(s).

General

Pathfinder will make every effort to keep the current published timetable, but services may be affected by road, weather or other conditions beyond Pathfinder’s control. Pathfinder will therefore not accept liability for any costs incurred by passengers under such circumstances.

Pathfinder makes every effort to ensure connections between its services where appropriate. However no liability can be accepted for loss or damage caused by any failure to make these connections or perceived to exist with other transport operations.

Pathfinder reserves the right to revise seat allocations without notice and to operate substitute vehicles of a different standard to those advertised. Passengers are not permitted to travel on vehicles between depots or other parking places and terminal points.

Pathfinder reserves the right to cancel any of its services for whatever reason without notice. Under no circumstances will an liability be accepted for losses incurred by pre-booked passengers.

Pathfinder will not be bound by fares quoted verbally to passengers when such fares differ on the purchase of the ticket. All fares and schedules are subject to change without notice.
